Daml workflows model not only data and assets, but also decisions, roles and authority across organizations. Through contracts, choices, parties and controllers, they define who can make a decision, who authorized it, what consequences follow and who must be informed.

Canton applies atomic transactions to complex financial workflows involving multiple parties, assets and systems. Daml checks that all required assets, permissions and conditions are in place before linked movements complete together, reducing settlement risk and supporting synchronized cash and securities settlement, clearer ownership records and interoperability across systems.

DAML complements this architecture by managing rights, obligations and access rules through smart contracts.
